It may cost a lot to do but income protection insurance can guarantee your monthly outgoings in the unfortunate event of you being made redundant. Another reason for taking out income protection insurance is if you become ill and cannot carry on working. Obviously, in this situation, as with redundancy, bills still have to be paid. It is therefore important to make a list of all your outgoings and consider how much it would cost to keep your life running smoothly if, for whatever reason, you lose your job.
